Ramsay Health implement OMTrak on $320m Redevelopment
WebFM's OMTrak has been selected on Ramsay Health's $320m Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) redevelopment in the Northern Metro area of Perth, WA. OMTrak will provide the campus with fully electronic handover documentation including Asset Register, Maintenance database and As-built drawings making the task of operating the facility that much easier for the Engineering team.
JHC was established in June 1996 when the Western Australian Government appointed Health Care of Australia to operate the existing Wanneroo Hospital and transform it into a modern health care facility.
The project involved refurbishing and extending the existing public hospital; the construction of a new private hospital, emergency department, specialist medical centre and community health centre; and providing the local residents access to a greater range of health care services.
JHC is now operated by Ramsay Health Care (RHC), which owns and operates over 65 hospitals and day surgery units in Australia, three in Indonesia and over 30 in the UK.
Joondalup Health Campus has an exciting future in store. With strong collaboration between the State Government and Ramsay Health Care, the campus will be expanded to include:
•A new emergency department
•Additional public hospital beds
•Expanded public Mental Health Unit (which is now open)
•Additional private hospital beds
•New and expanded operating suite
•New and expanded critical care unit
•Additional neonatal beds
•Additional rehabilitation beds
•Additional palliative care beds
•A second Specialist Medical Centre
At the end of stage 1, Joondalup Health Campus will have increased in size to a 541-bed hospital with 456 public and 85 private beds. Along with the increased number of beds, the Emergency Department, Operating Suite, Critical Care Unit, Day Procedure Unit and support areas will have also significantly increased in size.
Construction will take approximately three years and earthworks have already begun on-site. Phase 1 will see the construction of a new carpark in the north east corner of the site, the new Central Plant and most importantly an expansion of the Emergency Department.
